Anthropic Raises $65 Billion in Series H Funding at $965 Billion Valuation

Anthropic announced on May 28, 2026 that it raised $65 billion in Series H funding at a $965 billion post-money valuation. The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, and TechCrunch reported it could be the company's last private fundraise before a planned IPO.

The deal brings Anthropic close to the $1 trillion mark.

The financing was co-led by Capital Group, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, GIC, ICONIQ, and XN. Part of the headline figure was pledged earlier this year:

$15 billion of previously committed hyperscaler investments, including $5 billion from Amazon.

Investors Involved

Significant investors include Blackstone, Brookfield, Baillie Gifford, Fidelity, General Catalyst, Insight Partners, Jane Street, Lightspeed Venture Partners, T. Rowe Price, and Temasek.

Strategic infrastructure partners Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron also joined the round. Sequoia Capital partner Alfred Lin said startups and Global 5000 companies alike are deploying Claude to handle complex workflows.

How the Valuation Compares

The round makes Anthropic the most valuable AI startup, and the figures show how sharply its valuation has moved:

A valuation that nearly triples the $380 billion mark from its Series G in February.
A figure above rival OpenAI, valued at $852 billion in late March.

CNBC reported in late April that Anthropic was in talks to raise capital.

Revenue and Demand

Anthropic said adoption has continued to grow across global enterprise customers since February. Its revenue has scaled quickly over the same period:

Run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion earlier in May, up from a roughly $14 billion run-rate at its Series G.

How the Funds will be Used

Anthropic said the funding will advance its safety and interpretability research, expand compute, and scale products such as Claude Code and Cowork.

The company has also moved to secure large amounts of computing power in recent weeks:

An agreement with Amazon for up to five gigawatts of new capacity.
A deal with Google and Broadcom for five gigawatts of next-generation TPU capacity.
Access to GPU capacity through SpaceX in its Colossus 1 and Colossus 2 systems.

Chief Financial Officer Krishna Rao said the funding will help Anthropic "serve the historic demand we are experiencing" and bring Claude to more workplaces.

The company added that Claude is the first frontier model available on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, with AWS remaining its primary cloud provider and training partner.
