Anthropic Launched Claude Opus 4.5 — New Flagship Model for Coding and Complex AI Workflows

November 2025 — The AI race is heating up. All the big players are making big moves and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI.

GPT‑5.1 (from OpenAI) and Gemini 3 Pro (from Google) have recently redefined reasoning, multimodal understanding, and general-purpose tasks. And on November 24, 2025, Anthropic responded by releasing Claude Opus 4.5.

Claude Opus 4.5 is a “hybrid reasoning” model designed especially for coding, agentic workflows, and complex computer-use tasks. It has also significantly improved everyday productivity tasks, including research and spreadsheet management.

But where it really shines is its coding efficiency.

According to internal benchmarks, Opus 4.5 scored 80.9% on the coding benchmark SWE‑Bench Verified. It became the first model to cross the 80% threshold, beating GPT-5.1 Codex-Max (≈ 77.9%) and Gemini 3 Pro (≈ 76.2%).

On “computer-use” tasks, such as GUI interactions, file manipulations, and complex tool use, it reaches 66.3% on OSWorld.

Additionally, Opus 4.5 introduces features that matter in real-world workflows. It introduces:

  • an “effort” parameter that lets developers balance reasoning depth vs. latency
  • long context handling (200 K context window) for sustained sessions
  • tighter integration into enterprise tools like spreadsheets, slides, and multi-agent workflows

Claude Opus 4.5 makes a strong case as the best AI model for professional software engineering, complex multi-step computational workflows, and high-stakes enterprise automation. It claims to outperform both recent competitors and even human engineers on coding tests.
