Frequently asked questions
What is a keyword gap analysis?
A comparison of the keywords your site ranks for against the keywords your competitors rank for. The gap is the list they rank for and you do not, plus the ones where you rank well below them.
How many competitors can I compare?
Up to five at once. Each gets its own column, and the sheet shows which gaps one rival owns and which every rival shares.
How is this different from competitor keyword research?
Competitor keyword research lists everything one rival ranks for. A keyword gap analysis compares that list with your own and keeps only what you are missing or losing.
Where does the ranking data come from?
Chatly pulls it live from Ahrefs and DataForSEO when you run the analysis, for your site and every rival on the same day and in the same country.
Which gaps should I go after first?
Start with missing keywords that have decent volume and low difficulty, where a rival ranks with an ordinary page. The sheet marks these as quick wins.
