Ad spy tool

A swipe file of the ads that keep running in your category, every Monday.

Examples

Four weekly swipe files for four categories. Every pick has its run time and its source.

How it works

  1. Set the watch list

Name a category, a set of brands, or both, and the platforms to cover. Add a rule if you want one: only ads live 30 days or more, only video, only the US.

  2. The libraries are checked

Every week Chatly searches the Meta Ad Library, Google's paid results and TikTok's ad library for the brands on your list, and keeps the ads that are new or still running.

  3. Read the swipe file

A short report: the ads worth borrowing the idea of, each with its hook, format and run time, the angles spreading across the category, and what changed since last week.

Who it’s for

  • Brief drafted
One hook to test against your winner

Creative teams planning the next batch

Start the Monday brief from what the category is running and renewing, then decide which angles to test against your own winners.

  • Corvia launched 3 ads
    Flagged in Monday's file

    Media buyers watching for launches

Know the week a rival starts a new offer or a new format, instead of finding out from a dip in your own numbers.

  • 4 client swipe files
    Sent every Monday at 8:00

    Agencies running several clients

One swipe file per client category, delivered on a schedule, so the inspiration deck is already written before the creative review.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ad spy tool?

A tool that shows the ads other brands are running, usually by reading public ad libraries. Most give you a search box; this one sends a curated swipe file of the ads that matter each week.

Which platforms does it cover?

Meta (Facebook and Instagram) through the Meta Ad Library, Google search ads through paid results data from DataForSEO, and TikTok through its public ad library.

How do you decide which ads are winning?

By how long they keep running and how many versions a brand launches of them. A brand that renews an ad for months is paying for it because it works. That is a strong signal, not proof, and the report says so.

Can I see competitors' ad spend or ROAS?

No. Platforms don't publish spend or results for commercial ads. Google figures are modelled estimates, and the report labels them that way.

Is it legal to use competitors' ads as inspiration?

Studying public ads is normal practice and the libraries exist to make ads visible. Copying a brand's creative, claims or trademarks is a different matter; use the swipe file for angles and structure, then make your own.
